Start off your day with this quick and easy 5 ingredient Breakfast Blueberry Shake!
If you’re like me, mornings are rushed. I barely have time to brush my hair. And, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gone to work with my shirt inside out. #notagoodlook
But, no matter how busy it gets, I try to keep one thing consistent.
My kind of breakfast is on-the-go, takes 5 minutes to make, and is packed with vitamins and probiotics! It’s my quick and easy Breakfast Blueberry Shake!
How to make this Breakfast Blueberry Shake:
For this shake, you need 1 blender and these 5 ingredients:
- Frozen blueberries
- Raw agave
I’m a big fan of frozen blueberries because it makes the shake cold, and unlike fresh blueberries, it can store for days and weeks.
Kefir is a superfood made from fermented milk. It comes plain or in a variety of flavors and looks kind of like liquid yogurt. I like to use blueberry kefir for this shake, but plain is totally ok to use as well! Kefir is an awesome probiotic, so it’s full of healthy bacteria to aid in digestion and immune health. It’s great for shakes but it’s even great on its own. So, drink it straight from the carton. I won’t judge!
Use any greens of your choice. I kale so I grab handfuls, stems and all, and add it to the mix. I add about 2 cups to the blender. But, you can always add a ton and it never tastes too kale-y! But, my father-in-law — a recent breakfast blueberry shake convert — despises kale and gravitates toward spinach. Just add whatever green leafy vegetable of your choosing, because green leafy stuff is good for you!
Raw agave is a natural sweetener harvested from the blue agave plant. It’s gluten free and has no additives or preservatives, so I feel better about myself when I use it. But, if you can’t get your hands on this stuff, then regular honey does the same job.
Simply combine everything together and blend! Breakfast doesn’t get any easier than that!
I’ve been drinking this breakfast blueberry shake every morning for 3 straight years. No joke. Every day for three years and I still love it.
It’s quick, cold, refreshing and it’s just really really good.
